Who are we?
Steve Nealon (BSC, Hons, MBPsS) Director and Main Agent.
Steve was born into the entertainment industry being the son of well known Irish actor, Des Nealon and choreographer Bernie Keogh. Steve took his first professional role at the age of 8 at the Gate Theatre, Dublin under the direction of esteemed director Hilton Edwards. After his schooling, Steve trained as an actor at the Samuel Beckett Centre, Trinity College, Dublin. Working as an actor in Ireland and the UK for twenty years, Steve also spent many years working as an agent at actor's co-operatives ANA and Park Management. Steve also spent three years working in advertising sales for magazines at Nexus Media but magazines targeting the dental industry began to make his teeth grind. So Steve set up acting school Threshold Theatre Arts in 2007 and began to represent children for work in the entertainment industry and soon afterwards started to represent adults. Steve Nealon Associates began trading the following year and has been growing ever since. Steve is also a keen writer and director and has written and directed many shows for children and young people. Steve also has a degree in Psychology and is a committee member of the Open University Psychological Society. In 2019 Steve organised an event entitled 'Mental Health in the Gig Economy for the British Psychological Society and is a keen advocate for actor's mental health and well being.
Max McIver (BA), Agent's Assistant
Max has dreamt of becoming an agent since his days at university, it was here that he first experienced the joy of working with actors whilst creating content for his film degree. Since leaving university Max worked in sales before getting his first industry job at MSFT Management, where he was hired as an assistant. This allowed him to see the ins and outs of working at a talent agency and learning more about actor management from a dedicated agent. Max is now very much enjoying working with Steve at Steve Nealon Associates where he continues his development and dedicates all his time in assisting run a successful agency. In his spare time you can normally find Max on a golf course with his friends, or reading a John Grisham book.
Phoebe Mallinson (BA) , Agent's Assistant
Phoebe was involved in drama from a young age, acting all throughout her student years. Studying history at Oxford, she felt it was important to balance her academic work with some creative activity. Towards the end of her degree, however, she began to particularly enjoy the other side of the industry, spotting and critiquing talent, organising productions and fostering creative relationships. Upon graduating she was set on becoming an agent. Her work for SNA has been her first exposure to the job and she is loving learning from Steve.
Sophie Lyons, Agent's Assistant
Sophie began dancing at the age of 3 at the Wallasey School of Ballet where she trained in Ballet and Tap until the age of 18. Whilst performing in a number of professional musicals and being regularly taken to the theatre to watch plays, it was then that she decided that she wanted to work as an actress. Fast forward through a lovely guest lead for BBC 'Doctors' and Drama School training, Sophie decided that she much preferred the other side of things. She has since worked as a Casting Assistant for both Film and Theatre, and is now enjoying working as Assistant to Steve. At the same time, Sophie is also about to begin her final year of her BA in Film Studies at King's College London, with the hopes of moving on to study her MPhil at Cambridge University.
